Mum Sarah writes “During my first pregnancy, I had symptoms of a urinary tract infection so I had a urine test and was told shortly after that I had group B Strep. My midwife explained the dangers of it and told me that I would be given the opportunity to have intravenous antibiotics during labour to help prevent me passing it on to my baby.
After undertaking research, I decided I wanted to have the antibiotics. I am so pleased I decided to as Justin was born perfectly healthy and is now 11 years old and going to secondary school next month.
Since I was induced I was in hospital in plenty of time for me to be given the full quantity of antibiotics, so there was no need for us to stay in hospital for Justin to be monitored.”
