Mum Linzi writes, “Nine years ago today we nearly lost Alfie to group B Strep meningitis. Not a day goes by I wish we were told after his birth what signs to look out for when the hospital knew I had group B Strep. We can only thank our parents from the bottom of our hearts for guiding us back to a different hospital that night after he got discharged the previous night with an ‘umbilical hernia’. Thank God we listened. Thank God the pediatrician asked the right questions. Thank God the lumbar puncture results came back so quickly. Thank God he finally responded to the antibiotics. Thank God he is here.
Funny thing was before this we never prayed. Now we pray every night that no-one has to go through this again.
