Sir Nicholas Soames MP spoke movingly and powerfully in the Baby Loss Debate held in Parliament on 13 October 2016.
It was parliament at its best – MP after MP told heart-breaking stories of baby loss. Some shared their own stories, a number for the first time in the House. Others shared their constituents’ stories. Throughout, the emotion was palpable, as was the determination to do better, both for caring for the bereaved families, and for preventing avoidable baby loss.
The Minister for Health, Philip Dunne MP, responded on behalf of the Government, promising new initiatives to ensure that care for bereaved families will be improved.
Members of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Baby Loss will be watching …”I do have what can only be described as issues with the Department of Health on this matter … most of these infections could and should be prevented”
