We’re really pleased to share the launch of a new medical textbook on group B Strep, published by Elsevier and co‑edited by Professor Philip Steer, Chair of GBSS’s Clinical Advisory Panel and our Chief Executive, Jane Plumb.
This is the first dedicated clinical textbook on group B Strep, bringing together evidence, practice and lived experience to support better care and prevention.
Group B Streptococcus in Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Neonatal Period is the first dedicated clinical textbook on GBS, bringing together expertise from across specialties and lived experience to provide a practical, evidence-based guide to prevention, diagnosis and management.
We realised there wasn’t a single place that brought all of this together – the evidence, the clinical reality and the lived experience – so we set out to create one.
We’re hugely grateful to the many experts, clinicians and families who contributed. This is very much a collective piece of work, and we hope it will help shape understanding and care for years to come.
