Group B Strep Support has today launched a free CPD accredited group B Strep e-Learning module to provide evidence-based education on group B Strep to enhance the care of pregnant women and people, and their babies, and ultimately help save lives.
The module has been funded by grants from the Scottish Government and Pfizer, and co-produced with parents, midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists, and other experts in the field of maternity and neonatal services, with pro bono support from law firm Cripps.

The module will help hospitals meet the requirement of the 2023 Core Competency Framework v2 (CCFv2). The framework establishes minimum training standards for all healthcare professionals involved in maternity and neonatal care, and includes ‘Group B Strep in labour’ as one of the essential topics to be covered in training.
The module content is based on the current guidance from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
Successful completion of the module will provide one hour of CPD credit, so whether you are a clinician or simply want to learn more, this module will help you understand more about group B Strep and how you can help save lives.
