UNISON Motion passes unanimously
We braved the British weather to get down to the Brighton Centre, on the seafront this February. It was cold, wet, and windy – but we had a great time.
Why? Because we were exhibiting at UNISON’s Women’s Conference. UNISON is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, with a history of high-profile campaigns. And, hugely importantly, there was a motion tabled about group B Strep.
The motion called on the National Women’s Committee to raise awareness of group B Strep, and to campaign with Group B Strep Support and their Labour Link for routine screening on the NHS.
We’re very pleased to say that the National Women’s Committee fully supported the motion – it passed unanimously. We look forward to working with them in the fight against group B Strep infection. As one of their campaign posters said, “If you want to be heard, speak in UNISON.”
