The Group B Strep Support team has been out and about raising awareness this February. Our Chief Executive, Jane Plumb MBE, has been particularly busy, sharing insights and updates with many audiences at home and overseas.
On 13 February, Jane gave a presentation on “Midwifery practice & the revised RCOG guidelines on Group B Strep: insight from affected families” at theLondon Maternity & Midwifery Festival 2018. The session was attended by over 100 midwives with over 400 people watching the presentation via a livestream.
Team GBSS ensured copies of the new Joint Information Leaflet and our updated RCOG guideline summary got in to the hands of the midwifery community and shared learning with those who attended our stand. Jane will be speaking at the second event in the series in Birmingham on 25 April.
