How to plan your event

Take some time out over a cuppa to have a read through our fundraising guide.

You will need to think about…

  • Date – When do you want to do your fundraising? Pick a date and time that gives you time to get organised and that people will be available to come.
  • Location – where is your event going to be?
  • Invites – Who do you want to come to your event? Work colleagues, friends, family?
  • Type – What kind of event do you want to organise?
  • Why are you fundraising for GBSS? Getting the word out there is the secret to a successful fundraising event!

Keep your event safe and legal

We want everyone attending your event to have lots of fun. It’s important that before your event you make sure you’ve got the right permissions and thought about the health and safety of yourself, volunteers and everyone participating. Check with us to consider all health and safety issues if you are organising a large event – from food hygiene to fire regulations, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Shout about it

Getting the word out there is the secret to a successful fundraising event! We’ve put together some hints and tips on how you can advertise your event to the crowds, using social media and how to write a press release to help you with this. You’ll find all of this on our tips for promoting your fundraising.
