July is Strep B Awareness Month, an annual campaign to highlight the importance of Strep B awareness, education and research.
During Strep B Awareness Month we aim to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds for Strep B education and prevention.
Tragically, many families first hear about Strep B after their baby is seriously ill with Strep B meningitis, sepsis or pneumonia.
You can make sure more families hear about Strep B so they can take action to protect their newborn baby.
Join us this July to raise awareness, raise money and save lives.
What is Strep B?
How can I get involved?
Raise awareness
We want to reach out to as many new and expectant parents as possible and get them talking to their health professionals about group B Strep.
Please like and share our videos and posts on our social media channels throughout July, use the hashtag #StrepB2020.
Please share your experiences of group B Strep on your social media channels, using the hashtag #StrepB2020 (and do tag us too!).
Share your story
Poppy developed septicaemia due to late-onset group B Strep infection. Mum Victoria had not heard of group B Strep and felt sick and guilty. Poppy spent a week in Great Ormand Street hospital and made a full recovery. She is now a big sister to brother Leo.

Victoria is just one of the many families we support every day and you can read her story here.
If you or someone you love has been affected by Strep B and want to share your story, we’d love to hear from you. Telling your stories of how Strep B has affected you is hugely powerful and highlights why awareness is so important.
We will share stories throughout the month of July on social media.
Saving your pennies could help save a life
COVID-19 has meant most fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed – we need your help. Would you donate so that we can continue our vital work to help save babies’ lives?
If you’ve had your gym membership put on hold, are no longer paying for that daily coffee, or your commute to work, please consider donating the savings to Group B Strep Support.
We appreciate every penny you can give.

“My daughters, Hannah and Holly, and I really enjoyed completing a virtual challenge for GBSS. We did walks, scooter and bike rides around our garden and local estate to complete 26.2 miles and are pleased to have reached our fundraising target of £100. “
