Simon, Pixie, and David recently tackled a 5K inflatable course to raise funds for Group B Strep Support (GBSS).
Simon shared their story: “Our daughter and David’s niece, Sophie, was born in January 2024. Just a few hours after her birth, Sophie was rushed to intensive care, struggling to breathe. A few days later, we discovered she had a Group B Strep infection.
Thanks to the incredible support from the intensive care staff at The Portland, Sophie was discharged from the hospital two weeks after her birth and is now recovering well.
The event was fantastic, especially with the bright sunshine. All three of us navigated the course’s 32 inflatable obstacles together, with the tallest helping the shortest over some of the higher inflatables.
We’re thrilled with the amount we’ve raised, and Pixie and I plan to participate in another fundraising event for GBSS soon, along with our daughter.”
