I’d like to share my fundraising story with you.
Rachel writes “My mother-in-law is currently walking the Wainwright’s Coast to Coast from St Bees to Robin Hood Bay.
She’s had set backs (a leg infection caused by bad blisters, surrounded by cows until rescued by a farmer and taking the high road by mistake adding many hours onto a days walk!) but she’s carried on determined to finish what she set out to do.
In total the walk is nearly 300 miles and is taking over two weeks. She is walking to raise money for three charities close to her heart. One of which is Group B Strep Support.
GBSS is her chosen charity due to her first grandchild (my daughter) being born suffering group b strep meningitis, sepsis and suffering seizures. Thankfully after a lengthy stay in NICU she was allowed home- and is now a cheeky four year old! My son was also born last year and due to the information and support I received from Jane, Oliver and the team, I was given the antibiotics I requested and he was born healthy.
Karen has a Facebook page to follow her adventure and also a just giving page.
We are so proud of her, Willow especially thinks her nanny is a star!”
