Philip told us:-
“I was always hoping to run a marathon and after my wife tested positive for group B Strep during her pregnancy I knew that was the charity I had to run for. Our daughter Zoey was born in January 2023 with no complications thanks to early detection and care from midwives but we knew that others were not as lucky as us. I think raising awareness to people has been the biggest eye opener to me, hardly anyone I spoke to about my fundraising event had ever heard of group B Strep, so to get the message out there to more people was just as important to me.
On the day the route was tough but I stuck with it and finished in 4hr 27mins. It was tough in lots or places but I kept in mind what I and who I was running for and it kept me moving. It was an emotional experience crossing the finish line but I loved it so much I’m going back to do it again next year!”
