Kirsty nearly lost her son Elliott to Early onset Group B Strep infection at birth and he also suffered a Late onset Group B Strep infection at 3 weeks old. She was totally unaware of this preventable infection until it happened.
Kirsty writes “Thankfully we were the lucky ones and Elliott is now a happy healthy 3 and a half year old. I feel so proud of what I have achieved. It was always a dream of mine to jump from a plane (yes I’m crazy!) but to do it knowing I have raised this much awareness is absolutely incredible. I feel like what we went through with Elliott’s birth and the late onset Group B Strep has had a purpose and if I can spread the word to as many pregnant mums as possible then hopefully others don’t have to go through the stress we did. So blessed to have Elliott with us still. He’s already asking if he can jump out of the plane too so maybe in a few more years he will be fundraising himself.”
