Great to hear from Holly about her Manchester Half Marathon experience
“Last Sunday, I completed the Manchester half marathon in 2 hours and 12 minutes, proudly running in support of Group B Strep Support.
My motivation came from a very personal place after my son developed early onset group B Strep infection shortly after birth. It was such a scary and uncertain time, but the information and reassurance I received from GBSS helped me understand what was happening and gave me comfort when I needed it most.
Running for GBSS felt incredibly meaningful – my vest sparked so many conversations with other runners and supporters about group B Strep and the amazing work the charity does.
Crossing the finish line to see my little boy waiting for me was the most emotional moment, a real full-circle feeling and closure on the run which felt somewhat easy when I reminded myself of the battle he faced and fight he put up.
Thanks to everyone’s kindness and support, I’ve raised over £500 to help GBSS continue their vital work for families and babies like ours.”
You’re a superstar, Holly – thank you so much for your kind words. We’re so pleased to hear that we were able to provide the support you needed.
