Ashley completed the Great Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 21 May in 1 hour 57 minutes raising vital funds for Group B Strep Support and huge awareness of group B Strep. Ashley smashed his target on Marathon Day raising £784 for Group B Strep Support.
Ashley shares his story with us “My nephew and godson Harry was born with group B Strep infection, which sadly caused many complications after being born.
Harry is now 5 and has cerebral palsy from his early complications at birth, which has limited his physical ability greatly. Harry requires a lot of support and equipment in his day to day life and this charity are amazing in the support for his ongoing needs day in day out.
If I was asked to describe Harry in 3 words:
‘happy, cheeky, smiley’
He is totally and completely loved by everyone he knows and is such an incredible fighter, who wholeheartedly deserves every chance he has and can ever be given.”
