Group B Strep Support is challenging you to take on a virtual 5k, 10k, half marathon or marathon your way #StepsAgainstStrep
Are you ready to kickstart your fitness routine in the ‘new normal’? Then why not take on our virtual Steps against Strep challenge. Taking part is simple.
Steps against Strep is a great way to stay active, keep fit and fundraise. Your fundraising is needed now more than ever to ensure we can support new and expectant parents up and down the country and continue to save babies’ lives.
Challenge yourself to walk or run 5k, 10k, half marathon or the distance of a marathon. You set the start date and then have 30 days to complete the challenge, but you can choose your pace. You could complete it on your own or with your family and friends. All we ask is that you register for the event by donating £10 per person to Group B Strep Support, giving you the opportunity to support the charity through this difficult time.
We’ll send you a high-quality medal in the post once you’ve completed your virtual event, and you’ll get a digital certificate to show off your achievement on social media.

How does it work?
Simply choose and complete the distance wherever you like at your own pace. Walk, cycle, run or even do it on a treadmill in the comfort of your own home. Record your challenge on your favourite fitness app or watch, and then e-mail us your evidence. It’s that easy – as soon as your evidence has been received, we’ll post your medal directly to you.
Pick a date for your challenge to start, decide if you are going to walk or run and choose your distance. Pay your entry fee and set up your fundraising page to join #TeamGBSS.
Complete the distance all in one go or over 30 days, and record it on your favourite running app, or a running watch..
Send us a screenshot of your evidence from your chosen app to prove you’ve completed the distance..
Once your evidence has been approved, we’ll post your medal out to you..
Ever since I learnt about group B Strep and the charity Group B Strep Support it’s been close to my heart and something I feel strongly about making people aware. This is why I decided to challenge myself, and Miley in her buggy, to walk twice the recommended target steps per day for a healthy adult … 20,000 steps a day in March!

Government advice is currently to stay home if you can, though it’s still safe to exercise once a day as long as you keep a 2m distance from other people. Please read the Government’s guidance which can be found here and adhere to it at all times.
