Make Group B Strep Support your Charity of the Year
Partner with Group B Strep Support (GBSS) as your Charity of the Year and help protect newborn babies from life-threatening infection. As the UK’s leading charity dedicated to preventing group B Strep in babies, we provide trusted, evidence-based information to new and expectant families and health professionals, campaign for improved prevention and care nationwide, and support those families affected, so more babies can start life safe and well.
Why choose GBSS as your Charity of the Year?
- Support a life-saving cause that resonates with both employees and customers.
- Create meaningful impact in your local community and across the UK.
- Motivate teams with a diverse programme of engaging fundraising activities to suit all interests and abilities.
- Receive dedicated, hands-on support from our Senior Leadership Team, who will work with you to design a year-long programme aligned with your organisation’s goals, values, and interests.
Wherever you’re based, we’ll help you build a fun, inclusive, and high-impact partnership that leaves a lasting legacy. From an action-packed fundraising calendar, including opportunities to take part in exclusive events such as the London Landmarks Half Marathon, to volunteering opportunities with our team, we’ll champion your organisation every step of the way as we work together to save babies’ lives.
“We chose GBSS due to our little girl, Alaia Jae, receiving a group B Strep sepsis and meningitis diagnosis at 10 days old. What we had to watch her endure as parents was heartbreaking, and we knew absolutely nothing about this awful infection.
Finding GBSS meant we had support to mentally recover from the experience and also educate ourselves on how we can raise awareness to help the GBSS campaign.”

Find out more about our work and impact
Our vision is a future where every pregnant woman and person is informed about group B Strep, offered access to a GBS-specific test late in pregnancy as part of routine antenatal care, and where test results are used to guide appropriate treatment to minimise the risk of infection in newborn babies. We also want to see all new parents being equipped with the knowledge to recognise the key signs of group B Strep infection in babies, empowering them to seek early, life-saving treatment.
By nominating us as your Charity of the Year, you could support us in our work to give every baby a safe start in life.
