Jane Plumb MBE

Jane is our Chief Exec and founder: “Following our middle child’s group B Strep infection in 1996, Robert and I found few answers to the questions we had. Luckily, we very quickly made contact with an expert in the field and, after he explained how preventable most group B Strep infection in newborn babies is – and how so few health professionals at the time were aware of good prevention measures – we decided to set up a charity. The aims then (and now) were to raise awareness of how to prevent most of these infections in newborn babies both among relevant health professionals and families affected by group B Strep, support families affected by group B Strep and support research into prevention.”

Jane Grout

Jane is our Support Services Officer, “I joined the GBSS team in 2013 as Office Administrator and now look after all the Fundraising and Admin Support activities for the charity. Before having children I worked as a Sales Support Manager for a large travel company so joining a small team was a real change for me. I thoroughly enjoy working for the charity and have been really inspired by the amazing fundraising and passion people put into their events. Supporting them really makes my job worthwhile. Outside of work I really enjoy my cycling classes and have two wonderful girls, both of primary school age, who keep me very busy.”

Oliver Plumb

Oliver is our Campaigns & Fundraising Officer “I joined the team in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant, having graduated from Warwick with a degree in Philosophy and Literature. Working with a small group of determined people is very rewarding, as is the huge variety of tasks I get involved with on a day to day basis. Outside the office, I can usually be found with my head in a book.”

Angie Rivers

Angie is our Admin Assistant, “I joined GBSS in April 2017. The role is very varied and I am able to get involved in many areas of the charity. I am particularly excited to be involved in the management of the charity’s social media . I feel really excited about my new opportunity and feel very privileged to be able to work for a fantastic cause that makes a huge difference to thousands of families’ lives.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my 3 lovely children who keep me very occupied! I also love cooking and socialising with friends.”
